Some Kind of Monster (2004)
What started as a 2-year long journey of the creation of Metallica’s 2003 release of St. Anger, the band is barely able to piece together a single song let alone an entire record. Highlights of this cringey doc include the band’s personal therapist meeting with the guys for regular sessions, Lars Ulrich’s art collection being sold for over a million dollars as he watches on from a private suite, and their now-bassist Robert Trujillo auditioning and ultimately joining Metallica as the missing piece of the group’s puzzle.
