Whatever Happened to Pink Floyd? (2011)
This film depicts Waters as the reason for the Pink Floyd breakup, but speaking strictly from the perspective of this film, it seems Gilmore was definitely not a very motivated songwriter without a push from whomever he was working with at the time. Shortly after the recording of Animals, this film chronicles the rest of the band’s career leading up to their 2010 reunion show. Waters is portrayed as the head-creative “ideas guy,” but also seemed to really need Gilmore’s melodic approach to writing. They were a match like peanut butter and jelly… only if peanut butter and jelly didn’t like one another.
